INTER HOUSE ACTIVITIES, HOBBIES AND CLUBS:

The students community from Std-I to Std-V & Std- VI to VIII is divided into houses Dhruva(Red), Abhimanyu (Yellow), Arjuna (Blue), & Karana (Green). At the head are two houses. Captains a boy & a girl. The member of the staff acts warden who looks after the general progress of their wards in games & sports & co-curricular activities. Since all competitions held on house basis, house loyalties are the strongest. A regular record of student participation & achievements in House activities is maintained and points are awarded to each House.

The Annual Inter-House Athletic & Sports Meet is organized and certificates of merit, medals & trophies are awarded. Sportsmanship, co-operation & team spirit are inculcated & strengthened during the regular inter-house tournaments held through the year in all games award, trophies & shields are given to the winners. Hobbies are a part of the students from Std-III to Std-VIII. Our staff train the students in art, athletic, aeromodling, dancing, cooking, college work, doll-making, fabric painting, dramatics & speech training. An exhibition of this work is organized at the end of the academic year.

NCC

Students of Std- VIII, Std- VIII unit no- 139/5 J.W can opt for a years training in National Cadets Corps-army (Boys), Army(Girls) & Air-wing(Boys) NCC is recognized by Govt. of India.

SCOUTING/GUIDING

Scouting & guiding are optional for boys & girls of class VI to VIII.

EXHIBITION & DEMONSTRATIONS

The school encourages pupils to make various electron devices, painting & models, during their regular instruction periods.

To encourage them further, exhibition & demonstration are organized by the school. Selected models & painting are displayed in the school building during annual science exhibitions.

STUDENT PARTICIPATION

The School is quite alive to its responsibility of inculcating leadership qualities among the students. The Students are trained to shoulder position of responsibility. There are school appointments, class appointments, house appointments, etc. The class monitors perform duties assigned to them by the class teachers. School prefects & house prefects about the welfare measures to be taken for the school community. The Head Boy, the Head Girl, Games Captains, & other prefects are appointed by the principal from among those who show the qualities of leadership & command a great deal of respect from their fellow students & form a very valuable group of the school community.

The School organize & encourages healthy competitive participation. We Endeavour to adopt new methods of teaching & make the students communicate freely on all subjects. D.P.S School is an institution that encourage community living which teachers are friends, philosopher & guides.

Our goal is stimulate participation in cultural & intellectual endeavors towards the development of the whole individual. D.P.S School is a place where living, learning & socializing are merged into one, providing maximum exposure for contact & interaction between the students & the faculties. Personality Development Programmes the school is arranging different activities to develop the personality of students by conducting Quiz, Dedate, Extempore speech and Elegance by the Experts & also develop the Spoken English, Special attention is paid to extra- curricular activates.

THE STUDENTS COUNCIL

The Student’s Council consists of a Head Boy, a Head Girl, four House Girls, an Asst. Head Girl, four House captains & four House Vice Captains. They provide leadership to student community to shoulder various responsibilities & assist in the smooth running of the school. They are constantly challenged to develop new ways of maintaining order & discipline.

ELIBIBILITY FOR ADMISSON:

  • A child must be at least 3½ years old on 31st March in the academic year in which admission is being sought for admission in class Nursery and 5 year old for class 1.
  • For kids, students (Nursary, LKG, UKG)- There is no admission test conducted.
  • 25% seats are reserved from 1 to 5 class for SC, St, OBC and economic backward classes.
  • Merit fee concession may also be granted by the principal.

Admission

  • The prospectus along with the admission form is available in the school office on payments of Rs. 200/- Admission is made strictly on merit basis
  • Students (boys& girls) seeking admission are required to Appear in the admission entrance test for the desired class.
  • Preference is given to good athletes/Players & excellence in other activities like Debates, Drama & music etc. apart from academics.
  • Selected candidate has to submit the Transfer Certificate within 15 days of admission.
  • Result of the students not selected for admission in higher classes expect in case of transfer of Govt. & Semi-govt. Employees that too from English medium school.

Examination Pattern

For classes-Kids, I & II- There is no formal examination. The teachers evaluate the students through continuous and comprehensive evaluation system while teaching in the class.

For classes III to VIII- The C.C.E in classes II to VIII is spread over two terms during one academic session.

  • First term includes formative Assessment -1, 2 (pen paper test) and summative assessment -1 (pen paper test).
    Duration of the First Term from 1st April to 30th September in an academic session.
